You don't have to be dull in your kitchen! Cook with style by sewing this easy and cute apron. Materials Needed 1 1/2 yard of fabric (at least 45 width) Matching Thread Iron Scissors Sewing Machine Fabric Chalk or Fabric Marker Ruler or measuring tape Elastic thread How to Sew 1.From the raw edge of your fabric, Measure and draw a line about 26 inches wide and then draw down 20 inches long for the body of apron. 2. Then draw two 4 inch wide by 45 inches long 3. Cut all your pieces and then iron 4. For the rounded edge, take a large, round serving platter as a template and traced an arc to round the two bottom corners. And then cut along both corners to make the apron shape. 5. Fold and Iron about 1/2 inch hem along the side and bottom of the body of your apron. Then Sew around. 6. Next for the waist band take two raw edges of the shorter sides of the strips you cut. Pin right sides together, then sew the seam. Then Fold and Iron about 1/2 inch hem along the top and sides of the waist band. Leave bottom unfinished as you will use this to join to body of apron. Then sew around leaving the bottom unfinished. 7. Take your waistband and then pin top of the body of the apron and bottom of the waist band together. (Note your band will be longer then your body, because the strips on each side will serve as ties)Sew together. 8. For the bottom ruffle cut another long strip of about 52 inches wide and 3 inches long. Fold and iron bottom about 1/2 for a hem. Then sew. Then to Insert the elastic thread by winding it on your bobbin. Stitch along the very top edge. Repeat twice, so you have to two lines gathering the fabric. Right side should face each other. Then sew across. You can zigzag or serge the edge of the seam for a better finish. 10. Iron your apron then Try on. Enjoy cooking with style.
